A totally contrary finding to chew on:
Men’s judgments of women’s attractiveness were based primarily around physical features and they rated highly those who looked thin and seductive. Most of the men in the study also rated photographs of women who looked confident as more attractive.

I have to admit, this one’s a puzzle. I wonder if “confidence” was described the same way in both studies. Did men think women who smiled broadly and easily looked confident? If so, it might be consistent. Perhaps in the current study, women were described as confident if they assumed the same kinds of postures and expressions as men when they look confident.
I dunno.
